Sustainability Sells

The 2021 Sustainable Market Share Index™ finds that sustainability-marketed products are responsible for a third of the growth in consumer-packaged goods (CPGs) from 2015 to 2021, and market share growth continues year over year.

Products marketed as sustainable now hold a 17.0% market share, up +3.3 percentage points since the last 7 years.

Products marketed as sustainable grew 2.7x faster than products not marketed as sustainable.

Sustainability-marketed products that promote sustainable benefits are largely less price-sensitive than their conventional counterparts.
